Angleton is a 30-year, nine-time Emmy award-winning television veteran who has worked at networks such as NBC and CNN. Her documentaries include an HBO special produced with Gloria and Emilio Estefan and two documentaries highlighting the marriage of the Prince and Princess of Whales (William and Kate).
Her documentaries have taken her to Peru, Greece, Egypt, London, and Belgium. As a journalist, Marina uses her years of interviewing and writing experience to zero in on the perfect topics from students’ experiences that ultimately end up being essays that touch the reader. It is this unique approach to writing that sets The Write Essay apart.
In her time off, Marina heads to Washington, DC, to spend time with her son, daughter-in-law, and the latest addition to the family, her granddaughter! She enjoys boating with her husband and friends, cooking, traveling (during the off-season!) and practicing Pilates.
Tracey is a 20-year television news veteran whose career has taken her to New Jersey, Ohio, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts markets. The recipient of several Associated Press Awards, this talented writer has worn several hats throughout her time in the business: reporter, anchor, producer, and executive producer.
Her love for the written word led her to become a Broadcast Journalism professor at Newbury College and Boston’s Emerson College, where her teaching style has inspired countless college students to pursue a career in writing. Tracey received her bachelor’s degree at West Chester University and her master’s at Boston University.
She is Mom to Marina, a forensic DNA specialist in the DC area, and Matteo, who is studying Sport Management at Indiana University. A major sports enthusiast and Philly sports superfan, Tracey aims to hit every Major League Baseball stadium. In her spare time, Tracey enjoys serving on the board of her local educational foundation and loves knitting, traveling, and reading on the beach.

As a reporter and producer in local TV markets spanning from Pittsburgh to LA, Laura thrived in the deadline-driven pace of a newsroom. Her career expanded to corporate writing where she dove into the personal behind-the-scenes stories of the people that make high-profile companies like Chick-fil-A successful. Laura’s love of language and writing brought her to the high school classroom. She spent ten years inspiring high school English honors students to develop a solid foundation of writing skills for success on the SAT, ACT, and college application essays.
In her free time, this mother of three college students is an avid tennis fan who enjoys solo travel and her new passion, learning to speak French.
Erica’s passion and expertise center around the storytelling process: finding the heart of a story, strategically crafting a narrative and determining the most effective way to communicate a message.
journalist by trade, Erica cut her teeth working as a reporter and editor at The Aspen Times and Aspen Daily News and co-founding Aspen Local Magazine. Erica’s writing accolades began in Aspen Elementary School’s Fraser Creative Writing Contest and her work has been published and recognized nationally by the Associated Press and the Colorado Press Association.
She graduated from Southern Methodist University with a B.A. in print and broadcast journalism.
A Miami native, when she’s not working with students, Erica is managing her LLC, Erica Robbie Media, and writing her first book about the Miami Dolphins.
Kerri Winick has nearly 20 years of experience as a journalist, editor, and researcher. Her passion for storytelling began in elementary school and led her straight to the fast-paced world of television news, where she worked hand-in-hand with investigative reporters and produced consumer segments that led to community awareness and change.
Her stories have aired on local TV stations across the country, in major markets like Boston, New York, and Washington D.C. You’ll also find her work on social media and digital news platforms. Kerri prides herself on being able to deep dive into any topic and can fact-check like it’s no one’s business. She enjoys collaborating and bringing out the creative side in students. Kerri is a proud graduate of Syracuse University (Go Orange!), where she majored in Broadcast Journalism.
In her free time, Kerri loves being outdoors with her husband and 10-year-old son, teaching gymnastics and attempting to build furniture with her power tools.
Ashley has mastered the art of writing and helping students. As a high school English teacher, she has coached, encouraged and inspired students to become effective and compelling storytellers.
Essay writing is one of her passions, and for Ashley, helping students learn to express themselves is one of her greatest joys. Sharing her love for writing expands beyond the classroom.
A firm believer in giving back, Ashley volunteered in maximum security prisons, helping inmates learn to express themselves through creative writing. When she’s not working with students, Ashley enjoys acting in community theatre, writing, reading and exploring New York City with her corgi, Monster.
